To ensure you do not waste too much time when you're<br>
stuck, hints are now provided upon request at an<br>
incremental penalty:<br>
<br>
A hint to solve level 2 carries a 2 point penalty.<br>
A hint to solve level 3 carries a 3 point penalty.<br>
A hint to solve level 4 carries a 4 point penalty.<br>
A hint to solve level 5 carries a 5 point penalty.<br>
<br>
The first team to solve the CtF will get 3 extra<br>
points. The second team to solve the CtF will get 2<br>
extra points, the third team 1 extra point.<br>
<br>
As before, hints are sent out to the mailing list, but<br>
I recommend against sitting back and waiting for<br>
another team to request a hint (it's kind of an<br>
inverse Prisoner's Dilemma), lest you run out of time<br>
on the CtF over all.<br>
<br>
Hopefully these changed incentives will let you make<br>
progress when you're stuck.<br>
