Bayani Warrior Studies will be coming to Stevens to hold a series of
Filipino Martial Arts workshops over 2-days. Each workshop will cover a
different traditional Filipino weapon. Come learn the history and practical
application of FMA!

*April 1, 2008: The Bolo Knife*
*Hayden Lounge, 9:30 - 11:30 PM*

This workshop will cover the history and the combative use of the Bolo
Knife. The Bolo Knife is an agricultural machete in the farming lands of the
Philippines. However, in times of war and violence, it has also been used as
an efficient and deadly weapon. Used in the battle theater of the
Philippine-American War as well as World War II, the participants of this
workshop will learn the history behind the Bolo knife as well as it's
combative use. Methods of footwork, angles of attack, and combative
strategies will be taught. As an added bonus, there will be a segment as to
how to apply the methods of the Bolo knife to everyday items such as pool
cues, steel pipes, and other common items.

*April 3, 2008: The Dagger and the Pen*
*Hayden Lounge, 7 - 9 PM*

This workshop will cover the history and the use of the Dagger. Highly
sought-after by military, law enforcement, and elite martial artists, this
workshop will cover the history and use of the reverse-grip combative
strategy with a dagger. As an added bonus, there will be a thorough portion
instructing the participants how to apply dagger methods to the most common
everyday weapon in existence: the Pen. The pen is the one weapon that every
college student owns and can legally carry, and the methods of the dagger
apply directly to the use of the pen in an assault scenario.
