________________________________<div><font face="georgia, serif"><b><br>Saturday, December 1st @ 7PM – Free<br>Reading: Silvia Federici “Revolution at Point Zero”</b><br>“Revolution at Point Zero” collects forty years of research and theorizing on the nature of housework, social reproduction, and women’s struggles on this terrain—to escape it, to better its conditions, to reconstruct it in ways that provide an alternative to capitalist relations. Beginning with the Wages for Housework movement, Silvia’s work unravels the power and politics of a number of issues related to feminist politics and anti-capitalism on a planetary scale. In 1972, author Silvia Federici was one of the co-founders of the International Feminist Collective, the organization that launched the international campaign for Wages For Housework.<br>

Road and Friends</b><br>At its core, “Spit and Passion” is about the transformative moment when music crashes into a stifling adolescent bedroom and saves you. Suddenly, you belong. At twelve years old, Cristy C. Road was struggling to balance tradition in a Cuban Catholic family with her newfound queer identity, and began a chronic obsession with the punk band Green Day. In this graphic biography, Road renders the clash between her rick inner world of fantasy and the numbing suburban conformity she is surrounded by. She finds solace in the closet—where she lets her deep excitement about punk rock foment, and finds in that angst and euphoria a path to self-acceptance. Cristy C. Road is the author of “Bad Habit” and “Indestructible,” and tours nationally and internationally with Sister Spit, with her band, The Homewreckers, and on her own.<br>

He takes us through his transition into identifying as male, and how he went on to marry his wife and become an adoring stepfather of two children. Join us for an evening that will also feature music performances inspired by the book from Soce the Elemental Wizard and Rocco Katastrophe. T Cooper is the author of three novels, including “The Beaufort Diaries” and “Lipshitz Six, or Two Angry Blondes.”<br>

What are the conditions that allow local organizers to build off of protest in other cities and places? How do local histories, successes and patterns of communication affect our ability to incorporate new ideas? How can we create opportunities to be more open, creative and strategic in our movements? These questions will launch a conversation with Marina Sitrin, Ben Shepard and Lesley Wood.<br>
<br>Benjamin Shepard is the author and editor of six books including “Queer Politics and Political Performance: Play, Pleasure, and Social Movement,” “White Nights and Ascending Shadows: An Oral History of the San Francisco AIDS Epidemic,” “From ACT UP to the WTO: Urban Protest and Community Building in the Era of Globalization.” Marina Sitrin is the author of “Everyday Revolutions: Horizontalism and Autonomy in Argentina” and “Occupying Language” in the Occupied Media Pamphlet Series. Lesley Wood is the author of “Direct Action, Deliberation and Diffusion: Collective Action After the WTO Protests in Seattle.”<br>
