The UBS Atrium Series is presented by the Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts
Center, Inc., a New Jersey nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the
arts in North Jersey and to building a regional performing arts center on
the Weehawken waterfront.

in Lincoln Harbor, Weehawken. The Atrium is the lobby of the building

Dorado Schmitt and the Django All-Stars will present an 
hour of superlative "hot jazz", made famous decades ago 
by pioneering Gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and legendary French
violinist Stéphane Grappelli

Today, no one has done more to ignite interest in this important jazz style
than the dazzling French guitarist 
Dorado Schmitt. For over ten years he's been the star attraction of the
annual Djangofest at New York's Birdland Jazz Club, accompanied by a cast of
fiercely swinging "Djangologists."  Born to Gypsy parents, Schmitt was
weaned on traditional Roma music and Gypsy jazz, but rebelled as a teenager,
taking up electric guitar and emulating Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana.
Since the mid-90's he has been a leading figure on the international jazz
scene, where he and his fellow musicians continue to represent the art form
at its highest level.
