> Stevens Active Shooter Training Exercise – Volunteers Needed
>
> On Thursday, May 30th, 2019 between the hours of 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM the Stevens Police Department along with the Hoboken Police Department, Fire Department and EMS will be conducting a joint Active Shooter training exercise on the Stevens campus. This training is intended to strengthen the response capabilities and tactics deployed by first responders in the event that there is an active shooter on campus. In order to add to the realism of this training exercise we are seeking volunteers that would be willing to spend approximately 4-5 hours (or as much time as you would be available to assist) during this time period to portray themselves as victims, suspects and witnesses during scenarios that will take place. Each volunteer will be provided with a brief script/role to play and we are planning to have a ‘make-up artist’ (who assists in these types of training scenarios) provide blood and other types of injuries on the volunteers. Much of the success in these types of drills held by first responders is attributed to the realism that volunteer/’actors’ provide to a scenario. If you or anyone that you know is interested in being a part of this unique and important training exercise please contact Deputy Chief Robert DiGenova at rdigenov at stevens.edu.
