[SDS] GBM 1 and Spring 2024 Auditions

Greetings again.

I neglected to clarify what instruments the pit requires. We will need:

  *   Piano and keyboard
  *   Woodwinds and reeds (piccolo/flute, clarinet/bass clarinet, and soprano/alto/tenor sax)
  *   Brasses (trumpet, trombone)
  *   Strings (violin, standup or electric bass, viola, and guitar/ukulele)
  *   Percussion (drums)

Please note that you will have to submit different videos for each instrument and being able to play more than one instrument in a category (such as both flute and piccolo, or multiple saxophones) would be much appreciated due to spacing concerns on set.

A new semester means new ways to get involved with SDS. Check them out down below!

First GBM Meeting

Our first GBM Meeting is January 24th, at 9:15 pm in EAS 222. We will be going over some ways to get involved in the upcoming Spring Production as well as some general announcements. We hope to see you there!


Addams Family Audition Notice
The Executive Board is excited to provide our Spring 2024 musical audition notice for The Addams Family by Marshall Brickman, Rick Elice, and Andrew Lippa!

Here is some information about the performances and auditions for both cast and pit orchestra.

Performances:
Thursday, April 4th at 9 pm
Friday, April 5th at 8 pm
Saturday, April 6th at 2 pm
Saturday, April 7th at 8 pm


Cast Auditions (in Skyline 1, 4th Floor Howe):

Cast auditions will be held Thursday, January 25th  and Friday, January 26th  from 6:30pm - 11pm. Please sign up for one slot on either Thursday or Friday. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, January 28th.

Pit Auditions:
Pit auditions are to be a segment between sixty and ninety seconds and emailed to both sds at stevens.edu and to Michael Curcio at mlcurcioj3 at gmail.com. You may play whatever you'd like on your instrument. Submissions must be submitted no later than January 26th at 9pm.

NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa or Mel (she/her) and I am so excited to be directing the musical this semester. I am excited to explore The Addams Family especially on a college campus, and collaborate with you all to unearth new insights about family, love, and being true to yourself even when those you love ask you to do otherwise. I look forward to working with you all and bringing this show to life. I pride myself on creating a fulfilling and joyful process and product, and that starts with auditions. If you have any questions about these sides, feel free to email me at melissalewyn at gmail.com, and I will try to answer as soon as possible.
