Hi all!  Please see below for info on the March for Science.  There is a
local one in NYC in April on Earth Day, if enough people are interested we
could get a group of SWE members together and go.

*March for Science Update*
The March for Science in Washington DC will kick off at 10 am on April 22
with a teach-in and rally on the National Mall.  This event, co-organized
with the Earth Day Network, celebrates science and its enormous impact on
our democracy and in all of our daily lives.

*Transportation*

We know that many of you have been wondering whether there will be
organized transportation.  We're excited to be working with Skedaddle on
transportation to the Marches for Science!

Skedaddle is a transportation technology that makes it simple to start or
join a van or bus route anywhere in North America. Start a route from your
city, campus or town directly to the March, or join an existing route to
ride with others. Routes require a minimum of 10 passengers, and you won’t
be charged until 48 hours prior to departure. Learn more at

*What Comes Next*

This coming week we will announce our first cohort of partners.

In the next few weeks, we will begin announcing speakers and more detailed
plans for the day of the march.

We will be sending the details out to our mailing list in advance of the
press release, so that you are the first to know the updates!

*A Note on March for Science Shirts*

There have been many online stores and Facebook pages promoting shirts and
claiming to be associated with the March for Science. At this point, tens
of thousands of dollars have been collected by people posing as the March
for Science who are instead pocketing the money for their own use.   We are
working as fast as we can to get these sites taken down.  *Our official
merchandise can be found at store.marchforscience.com
