The Société de Chimie Industrielle was founded in 1918 as The American
Section of a Paris-based international organization. Today it operates as
an independent New York-based Society with a mission to work with other
chemical industry organizations and promote understanding of the chemical

This has been both an exciting and a turbulent time for the global economy
and the M&A and equity markets. Conventional wisdom is that the chemical
M&A market volume has been rising along with valuations? Is this really
true? How have chemical company shares and valuations fared in the public
equity markets this year? What is driving the movement of their share
