You're right - the AMI was previously available but then removed.  Try
ami-c4ef1dad instead.  If this happens again, you can check
http://wiki.netbsd.org/amazon_ec2/AMIs/ for a list of available NetBSD
AMIs.

I'll update the course website as soon as the SRCIT services let me in
again (I think there's some maintenance going on).

Also, as a reminder to everybody else: *please* get started on the
homework assignment...
