This is correct.

The assignment states:

* create two AWS instances of a given OS

That is to say if you pick FreeBSD, then you create two instances of
FreeBSD and perform the exercise.  After that, you repeat with two
instances of any of the other systems.

Some operating systems have compatibility for filesystems from another
OS and it may be possible to mount on NetBSD, for example, an ext2
filesystem created on Linux, but not all combinations of OS/fs are
possible.
