Try to stop and restart your instance once.

Yes, the instance state is running, but the instance status check fails, “These checks monitor your software and network configuration for this instance.
Instance reachability check failed at February 1, 2019 at 1:07:00 PM UTC-5 (13 minutes ago)“, I run another ubuntu instance in us-east-2, that instance work successful.

If system checks fail then the system would not be up and running. Is your instance running?

Do you mean by the security group? It is set by default 0.0.0.0/0 allows all IP addresses to access the instance.

Check your security group’s inbound rule. It should have the ip address of the machine from which you are connecting your instance.

Hello everyone,
I have some problems in connecting aws instance. I create a pre-made ami instance of us-east-1(Virginia) ami-bc8fc8d6 micro instances t1.micro, and set everything by default. After it launches, it passes the system status but fails the instance status check, and I cannot connect it by ssh -I ~/mykey.pem root at address. Does anyone have the similar problem? Thank you for help.
Guangqi
