[cs631apue] How to determine the type of a file as Archive state 1, Archive state 2 and Whiteout?

Hi all,

For -l option and -F option, there are three file types Archive state 1, 
Archive state 2
and Whiteout that I don't find flags to define them.

I only found on the manual page that BSD system defines Whiteout as
'#define S_IFWHT 0160000'.   Can I define such a macro to determine the 
Whiteout?  How
to define the other two types?
