Hello,

I believe you all should have received your final project grades from
Patrick. With that, you now have all the grades for all your
assignments and can thus calculate your final letter grade as per the
weight distribution outlined on the course website. Please direct any
questions about your grade to me, not to Patrick.

I will be submitting final letter grades to the registrar later today.

This concludes the semester. I hope that you enjoyed the class, and,
more importantly, that you learned a bit of what we set out to learn at
the beginning. Most importantly, I hope that you internalized some of
the general programming concepts and practices we discussed, as they
apply equally to all programming in just about any language.

Just remember, that with this class you've barely scratched the surface
of system level programming, and while it may have given you a better
understanding of how other languages might implement certain features,
these lessons require continous repeating.

I also hope that you have come to appreciate the simplicity of the Unix
system and its tools. When you encounter similar or new tools, always
try to think a bit about how they might be implemented, and remember
that you have access to all the source to check.

Good luck in your further academic careers,
-Jan
