[FAST] Wanna Canta!?

Hey FAST!

Wanna canta!?  Saint Peter's Asian American Student Union (AASU) is holding
a singing competition and is looking for contestants from each of the FIND
District 3 Schools (that includes us!).  If any Stevens student is
interested in being FAST's contestant or would like more information, please
let me know at (ipuertol at stevens.edu) by Wednesday!

Saint Peter's Asian American Student Union (AASU) will be hosting its First
Singing Competition. This is not a Karaoke contest, but more of an American
Idol type of setting. FIND/ D3 schools are to send their best singer to
represent their Asian/ Filipino Organization and be judged and critiqued on
their performance. The judges will decide the fate on who will be the
overall winner. Come and represent your school to see which FIND/ D3 school
has the best singer!

Rules:
Each FIND/ D3 school can be represented by 1 singer (male or female) in the
competition.

They will be singing 2 songs.

The first song will be a song from an assigned genre that will be selected
randomly by the AASU e-board. 
The song/ arrangement can be no longer than 5 minutes.
The second song will be singer's choice.
They will be able to choose any song of any genre.

Please try to keep the music clean with no swearing and limited profanity.

Costumes are also welcome - Dress to Impress

Scoring:

There will be 3 judges that will be critiquing and doing the overall
scoring. They will have distinguished music backgrounds within the NY/ NJ
area. They will judge the performances based on song selection, vocal
expression, arrangement, pitch, memorization of lyrics, crowd reaction,
stage presence and overall performance. Different categories will have
points and each song is worth up to 100 points equaling to 200 points for
both songs. The person with the greatest amount of points will win the
competition.

There will also be a Viewer's Choice award. After all the performances,
every person will be able to submit their choice for the best performance.
It will be tallied quickly and be announced at the awards ceremony. 

Prizes:
1st Place will get a trophy and be the Lead Act at AASU's 2nd Annual
Kasayahan Variety Show.
Viewer's Choice award.

Rock/ Alternative
90's Pop
80's Pop
Modern era Pop (2000- current)
R&B/ Hip-Hop 90's
R&b/ Hip-hop Modern era (2000-current)
Smooth Jazz
Country
Blues
