 Dear Friends,

Hopefully you've heard of the devastation Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) brought to
the Philippines.

Sept. 26, 2009 - Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) hit the Philippines. A month's
worth of rain fell in about 9 hours and flooded Manila. The tragedy claimed
more than 140 lives and displaced over 430,000 people. It's the worst
flooding recorded in the country since 1967. Manila and surrounding areas
were lashed with heavy rains and flash floods for nine hours, leaving some
areas under 20 feet of water. The capital and 23 other provinces have been
declared under a STATE OF CALAMITY. Many people are missing or trapped and
numerous areas are still submerged in floodwater. More than 1.2 million
people have no electricity. Victims are in dire need of basic relief goods
like food, water and clothing. The death toll is expected to climb, and so
are the number of missing and injured.

**HOW TO HELP:*
There are several ways to help. Here are some options below:

OPTION 1 - Ayala Foundation USA (http://af-usa.org/donate_now_form.asp) by
selecting either:
1) "AF-USA Typhoon Relief Fund" or
2) "Philippine National Red Cross"
Please help the flood victims of Tropical Storm Ketsana. Send your
donations to Ayala Foundation USA. Up to 300,000 people may be displaced,
according to Philippine Red Cross officials. More than 75 are dead. The
Philippine Government begins massive relief operations following deadly
floods. Ayala Foundation is already mobilizing in Manila with the
Philippine National Red Cross to help the victims, said Vicky Garchitorena,
AF President. To donate, visit http://www.af-usa.org/donate_now_form.asp In
DONATE TO Box: Select the Philippine National Red Cross from drop down to
help flood victims in Metro Manila.

OPTION 2 - Paypal to TxtPower.org which will send the fund to the Red Cross
(paypal email address is magbayanihan at yahoo.com.ph or just click
http://bit.ly/e05mw)

Information on Ayala Foundation USA (AF-USA):
Established in 2000, Ayala Foundation USA (http://www.af-usa.org/) is a
public charity registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service as
a 501© 3 tax-exempt organization. As the bridge between US-based Filipino
individuals and communities, and Philippine-based social development
institutions, AF-USA becomes a mechanism by which donations and other forms
of support can reach intended beneficiaries in the Philippines.

Information on TxtPower.org
TxtPower.org (http://www.txtpower.org/) is a consumer advocacy group that
draws inspiration from the use of technology (mobile telephony and the
internet) in pushing reforms. Inquirer.net (a national broadsheet in the
Philippines) has written an article about their donation drive using paypal
(http://bit.ly/qL3zi).

Please spread the word to your family, friends and organization by
forwarding this email. We are very fortunate to not have to suffer massive
flooding like those in Manila and the rest of the Philippines. Please be as
generous as you can! Hope you find this helpful. More options below.

Thank you!
God Bless the Philippines!

Sincerely,
Meriden Villanueva
