Come join the faculty and staff to presentations in the Department of
Chemistry, Chemical Biology and Biomedical Engineering to presentations and
lunch from sodexo to learn about research innovation opportunities within
Stevens and affiliated professors.

This event will take place on *December 6th* from *2:00 to 4:00 *pm in
Jacobus Loung!

This is a great networking opportunity, you get to sit, talk and eat with
professors! Research is a big part of your education here at Stevens and it
is important to get an idea of what labs you may be interested in and
foster that relationship!

This event is hosted by* SHPC, BMES* and *ACS*

*Please RSVP on our google doc at this link (here
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEg5MzZpVUZONk9zMmF4bkdIS1loRHc6MA>)
as
there are limited spots!!!!!!*

*Also check out the attached flyer! *

Currently Our List of Professors Speaking:

*Dr. Peter Tolias* - Director of the new Center for Healthcare Innovations
being launched at Stevens. This new center looks to tackle pressing medical
issues by incorporating multiple disciplines from Stevens.

*Dr. Arthur Ritter* - Research work in nano-robotics and development of a
biological battery that runs on glucose. Goal is to implant such a battery
with no need of replacement. Artificial hearts require energy sources that
deplete, a glucose battery would overcome such limitations.

*Dr. Svetlana Sukhishvili - *Innovative work and research on multilayer
polymer films has allowed Dr. Sukhishvili to develop next-generation
coatings of prosthetic implants and medical devices.

*Dr. Ramana Vinjamuri* - Studies Brain-Machine Interfaces that control
prosthetics. Dr. Vinjamuri is exploring and engineering methods to increase
control in human hand from just 7 dimensions to over 30 dimensions.
Research involves signal processing, control and optimization methods.

*Dr. Yong Zhang* - Developing a method for computational analysis of drugs
and living proteins that allows researchers to test-run their experimental
medicines before conducting laboratory trials. Dr. Zhang has created
simulations that accurately model drug interactions at the atomic level.

*Dr. Carrie Perlman* - Researching lung mechanics in context of acute lung
injury. Work conducted sets the ground for the development of novel
treatment methods. Mechanical ventilation can cause over-distension injury
of the lungs and prevent recovery.

*Dr. Antonio Valdevit* - Researches and designs the next generation of bone
for clinical implantation. His lab has worked with various bone graft and
scaffold approaches for tissue engineering.

Hope to see everyone there and don't forget to RSVP with the link above !
