Gaining experience is an important part of the medical school application process. But to be considered a competitive applicant, do you really need to shadow a physician? The AAMC's president and CEO, Darrell G. Kirch, MD, issued a statement concerning the impact President Trump's executive order on immigration will have on the nation's medical schools and teaching hospitals. In the statement, Kirch noted that "the AAMC strives to ensure medical education and training is accessible for students and physicians from all backgrounds."
