[Themaintainers] Request: your favorite maintenance examples

Hi everyone!

Lee and I would like to tap into the collective wisdom and experience of this list, and we’re hoping you’ll indulge us.  Our experience with our list subscribers is that you all share our interest or even admiration for maintenance success stories; and you also share our irritation with the buzzword "innovation" and the notion that innovation can cure all kinds of social ills.  So, we thought we’d collect and share anecdotes using a google form <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdAlsd2zDTTjgGDw7OwwUpb_d7t4Ii0w2OslZfsLaG1RIxSQg/viewform>.  The form has 2 questions (and a place for you to leave your name/contact info):

1. Can you describe one or more of your favorite examples of a maintenance success story? This might be from your own personal experience, or from things you've read/seen/heard.

2. Can you describe one or more of your favorite examples of innovation-mania gone wild? How about a case where an innovation fad has harmed a business or other organization? This also might be from your own personal experience, or from things you've read/seen/heard.

Of course, you’re always welcome to share examples with this mailing list.
