Dear Maintainers,

Tomorrow (from 2pm to 6pm) and on Wednesday (from 9am to 12:30pm), the Guarini
Global Law & Tech <http://www.guariniglobal.org> initiative at NYU Law will
be hosting a workshop on *open source software as critical digital
infrastructure* with a focus on legal technologies (such as contracting,
licensing, liability, procurement etc.) and institutional design
(governance of knowledge commons, accountability of OSS foundations etc.).
Our starting point is the idea of "thinking infrastructurally" about OSS
(see Benedict Kingsbury's paper attached, pp. 177-184) and the related
question of how to ensure the *maintenance of critical digital
infrastructure*.

*Maintainers are of course warmly invited to participate* (and sorry about
the late notice!)*.* The format will be very informal and fluid with
initial interventions (no formal presentations), followed by discussion
centered on the themes of the four sessions. Please RSVP with

are hosting a writing retreat for this today and tomorrow morning and
several participants will join us for the workshop as well. So this will
also be an opportunity to engage with and hear from OSS researchers from
other disciplines.
