[Themaintainers] Repair video sub-genre: lathing new threads et al

Somehow my Facebook algorithm has led me into what I attempted to describe
in my subject: a video sub-genre showing metal repairs in which an operator
cuts new threads or performs other operations on a lathe.

Based on a totally unsystematic review of this emergent genre, based on the
languages associated with each video most if not all of the content seems
to be generated in the global south. And while one can't be too sure how
the Facebook and Instagram algorithms interact, based on my personal
experience these videos seem to live more on Facebook than on Instagram.

Who the creators are, who the audience is, and what they all gain from
making and watching these videos, I have no idea, as I believe that I am
probably algorithmic "by-catch" for this content. For me, it's mostly
visual ASMR, as I have no need to repair threads or anything else on what
looks like industrial machinery. I just find the existence of maintenance
video content to be fascinating.
