Hi Maintainers -- Long time lurker, first time poster.

I wanted to share out my new book, much inspired by the scholarly work of
this group.

Machineries of Similarity and Difference: AIDS From Its Research
Infrastructures

I track three research infrastructures that have been supporting the
science of HIV/AIDS for over three decades -- up to the present. (Though I
do check everyday to see if they've been defunded, :-/) The focus is on how
evidentiary resources (participants, instruments, data & specimens,
experts) are made compatible over time across all the political,
scientific, and technological changes that constitute the social worlds of
AIDS.

The main theme is not maintenance; the main theme is interoperability,
harmonization and equivalency, or 'how to make different things work
together'. But when one is working across decades (from paper, to disk, to

repair, upgrade, and much else involved!
