[UR] Performance Review Meetings and Routing for Acknowledgements

All,

Just a reminder that managers are to complete an employee's evaluation in Workday by today, July 11. Upon submission, it gets routed to the manager's manager for review/approval which must be completed by July 18.

At that point, the evaluation is returned to the manager, and the manager is to complete a meeting with the employee by August 8.

I checked with HR this afternoon and they said: "Whether the employee reviews the appraisal before the meeting is at the manager's discretion. Some managers prefer to share it in advance, while others opt to review it during the meeting and send it afterward. A manager can move it forward in Workday for the employee to review once the meeting is scheduled or send a copy. We ask that the manager confirm they have met or are scheduled to meet with the employee to review the evaluation."

When a manager gets the evaluation back in their task list (after the manager's manager approves it), there are instructions that say "" I acknowledge that I have met with the employee to discuss the contents of the evaluation..." According to HR, as long as you have scheduled the meeting, the manager has the option to acknowledge it which will then route the review to the employee. The employee should NOT acknowledge it until after the meeting has occurred. Of course, the manager can opt to meet with the employee first before routing the review to them and then both would acknowledge the review after the meeting.

It was confusing last year and continues to be confusing this year! Hope this helps a little.
