                If anyone is interested in attending any of these workshops
please feel free to RSVP.

The NJ Alpha chapter of Theta Alpha Phi, the honor society for excellence in
theater at Stevens Institute of Technology, will be sponsoring the following
FREE theatrical workshops during the month of March 2009. For each workshop,
we request that RSVP be made at least 48 hours in advance so proper
materials can be prepared. ALL Stevens students, staff, faculty and alumni
are welcome to attend:


Marketing/Publicity Workshop, given by Karen Maloney

Monday, March 2, 2009 at 7:30pm

Location: DeBaun Auditorium Front Office

Description: Discuss how to create a press release, gain press coverage,
advertise to the general public, basic poster and material design, and
internet marketing.

Building Techniques Workshop, given by Brad Chiappetta

Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 8pm and 9:30pm (two sessions!)

Location: DeBaun Auditorium Backstage

Description: Learn basic building techniques and proper hardware use,
including some hands-on experience with hand, power tools, and hardware.

Stage Lighting Workshop, given by Ray Reyes

Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 1-3pm

Location: DeBaun Auditorium

Description: Learn the principles and techniques of lighting design,
including some hands-on experience with lighting instruments.

Sound Workshop, given by Michael Chladil

Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 2pm

Location: DeBaun Auditorium

Description: Get acquainted with the RSS V-Mixer Digital Sound Board and
become familiar with Reason, a software program with a virtual studio rack
used to make and record music and sound effects.
