[FAST] FAST Alumni at Stevens Career Fair

Hello FAST members! I have a special message from one of our FAST Alumni with info about the upcoming Career fair at Stevens next week! Check it out!


My name is Kipsy Quevada, and I have been privileged to work at NAVAIR as a computer engineer of the EMALS (Electro-Magnetic Aircraft Launch System) Subsystems Branch for the past 8 months. I am also a proud Stevens graduate of the Class of 2019 with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Software Engineering, and previously a FAST member. I am excited to share that I will be returning to my Alma Mater representing NAVAIR at the Stevens Career Fair on Wednesday, February 12.



NAVAIR's mission is to bring "speed to the fleet" by supporting naval aircrafts, systems, and weapons for sailors and marines. Our base in Lakehurst, NJ particularly specializes in EMALS, AAG (Advanced Arresting Gear), ADMACS (Aviation Data Management and Control System), the F-35 JSF (Joint Strike Fighter), Support Equipment, and more (https://www.navair.navy.mil/lakehurst/). In the few months I have been working at NAVAIR, I have already had the opportunity to wear multiple "engineering hats" from designing test systems in our software lab, to developing scripts for data processing and analysis, to installing software for launch catapults on an aircraft carrier. I love my job because not only am I being challenged to think and work creatively in both the hardware and software realms, but I also know that the work I am doing is truly valuable - is keeping our military, and the country they protect, safe.
