[Themaintainers] Social media archives study (and APIs)

I am (finally) reaching out about work I'm doing connected to my
dissertation (the political economy of social media archives -- a
comparative study of web archiving software methods including sm APIs). I
won't bog everyone down with a long email but would be happy to explain if
anyone really wants to hear more :)
Currently I am working on a section in advance of a media policy and law
conference that examines direct downloads via social media APIs. I'm
expanding on findings from a test run with a single account: the feedback I
have consistently received from multiple sources is that the study should
be comparative and that's fair.
So I am looking for groups who maintain a presence on Facebook and Twitter
(and Instagram optimally) to participate in the study. Participation is
minimal in terms of what there is to do: download your accounts from the
platform and send me the files. Again, I won't bog everyone down here with
these details. The goal is to assess access. It's not a pretty picture, I
can say that now.

I should also introduce myself: I'm an aspiring Communications Ph.D.
(currently a candidate) at Columbia University. The listserv contributions
have been a constant inspiration and I welcome any suggestions. Also happy
to answer questions.

Best,
Angela
