Excellent interview Lee! Everyone should check it out. Thanks to you and Prof. Cowan … great way to kick the whole thing off.

Hi, everybody.

After months of work, I'm really excited to launch Peoples & Things, a new podcast about human life with technology. The first episode is an interview with historian Ruth Schwartz Cowan about her career and the genesis and legacy of her classic book, _More Work for Mother_.

Peoples & Things will be released weekly. Every interview will also be released as a YouTube video with subtitles. The emphasis of the podcast is on social scientists, humanists, journalists, activists, and others who shed fresh light on our technological world. The podcast won't be wholly focused on maintenance, but it will be a big theme.

Lots of people helped make the podcast possible. My brother Jake wrote the music, and my friend and Maintainers community member Juliana Castro designed the logo and other visual elements. I especially want to thank VT Library's Athenaeum, particularly the podcast's producer Joe Forte. The Athenaeum has the mission of helping members of the VT community do digital humanities projects.

The podcast team is always looking for suggestions, both about production and especially about guests we should have on!

Hope you enjoy it!

Best,

Lee
