*Speaker Biography*

Dr. Masashi Yamamoto is a professor in the Department of Economics at Tokai
University. His research interests lie in the economics of
environmentalism, the path to a circular economy, and how natural disasters
and climate change impact natural resource availability. Most recently, he
published an article in English titled: “What activities reduce plastic
waste the most? – The path to a circular economy for Japan’s manufacturing
industry”, in Waste Management. Dr. Yamamoto holds a PhD in Economics from
Keio University, and a Masters in International Environmental Policy from
Middlebury’s Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
