[Themaintainers] New section of my MAINTENANCE book is online

Six large sections of my book-in-progress—MAINTENANCE: OF EVERYTHING—are now online for free viewing, here:

All the sections invite your comment.  The whole point of pre-publishing the book is to get many eyeballs on any bugs in my text, the better to fix them.  And to let me know if people are interested in the material.

The new section highlights “Great Manuals in History.”  Of the six I cover, three were created explicitly to break through class barriers—Diderot’s Encyclopedia (1751), Culpeper’s Directory for Midwives (1651), and Moxon’s Mechanick Exercises: or The Doctrine of Handy-Work (1678).
