DeBaun PAC ensemble participants,

The situation at Stevens has changed further. Students are now being encouraged to leave campus and leased housing if they have somewhere safe to go to, but are not being forced to leave. Classes will continue online through April 5th.

Campus gatherings of nearly any size are being cancelled, and so ensemble rehearsals are now suspended through April 5th. We will get further guidance before then regarding the Stevens plan for after April 5th.

If it becomes possible to restart rehearsals later in the semester and/or perform partial concerts, we will entertain that idea, but currently we have little idea what the remainder of the semester will look like or when the students will be returning to campus.

The Music Room is being disinfected tonight and will not be locked down, but will be limited to use by individuals and (very) small groups.

We will continue to share information as it arrives. Please share any concerns and questions, and we’ll navigate this semester together.

Regards,
Carl

If you have chosen to leave campus for coronavirus concerns, you need only respectfully alert your ensemble conductor that you will be unable to attend rehearsal. Departmental and student events below a certain size have been largely encouraged to continue normal operations, and we will plan to do so until we hear otherwise.

I will share that information as soon as I receive it, and we will adapt to the new situation.
