Salam all,

Attached is a plea sent out to MSAs across New Jersey for donors to help a
dying brother in Rutgers. Regrettably, he is suffering from leukemia and is
in dire need of a bone marrow transplant. This is, in truth, a matter of
life and death. If you or anyone you know can make it to central Jersey for
Jumaa this Friday, please make every effort to show up and get tested for a
match. InshAllah, the rewards will be endless if you can make a difference.

Jazakullah,
Waqar Khokhar

PS
Watch for an Eid-ul-Adha event soon!

Asalaamu Alaikum everyone,

This is the emergency news I spoke to a few of you about at EOI, in regards
to a brother who is seriously ill and needs immediate help from us.
Last year 21 years old Rutgers NB student Khaled Elfarra was diagnosed with
Leukemia, and his situation has been slowly been getting worse. Doctors are
now saying that, realistically, Khaled has perhaps about a month to live,
and that's if he gets a Bone Marrow Transfusion. The only thing is: we have
yet to find a bone marrow match for Khaled. Working with his family, SAMAR
(South Asian Marrow Association of Recruiters) along with Robert Wood
Johnson Hospital (where he currently is), we're trying desperately to find a
match for Khaled so that insha'Allah he can survive. This is not matter of
someone only getting healthy, but of *surviving*.

It takes about two weeks for results to return after a drive, and about a
week for the transfusion. So, we're putting together a drive for *THIS
Friday* after Jummah at ISCJ & MCMC and Saturday at Rutgers-New Brunswick
(exact location will be announced real soon). Please spread the word to your
MSA's and communities and show up on Friday or Saturday if you can. Also, we
need volunteers to help us out on both days, so please let me know if you're
willing to volunteer. Below is the description and the FB event page is up.

Needless to say, with each second that goes bye, is crucial to Khaled's
life. So please spread the word and help as much as you can, and definitely
keep him in your du'as.

May Allah grant him shiffa. Ameen!

SAVE KHALED- Bone Marrow Drive

Khaled Elfarra is a Computer Science major at Rutgers University, a member
of the University's table tennis team, and most importantly, a member of our
Ummah. At the young age of 21, he has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia
found to be in progressed stages. Since his diagnosis in August, he has
undergone 3 rounds of chemotherapy, and his situation has become more
complicated. He is in di...re need of a bone marrow transplant, but there is
no current match in the international directory of donors. Please help us
finds a match by donating:

It’s simple and has no side effects. All you have to do is:
Fill out a health questionnaire
Quick swab swipe of the inside cheek

Insha'Allah the drive will be on Friday and Saturday November 5th and 6th

As of right now his family has no compatible donors, and if you are found to
be a match, you will not only help him get healthy, but will be saving his
life. Remember that Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said,
"The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just
like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it
with wakefulness and fever". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

If you are interested in helping or donating or volunteering please contact:
Haidy Elfarra (Haidyelfarra at hotmail.com)
Amira Hussein (hussein.amira at gmail.com)
or
Rizwan Ali (Soopariz319 at yahoo.com)

Be sure by donating you will not only earn the reward from Allah (SWT), but
you can also save another person’s life.
Thank you and may Allah reward you for your efforts.

Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (sal
Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "A Muslim is a brother of (another) Muslim,
he neither wrongs him nor does hand him over to one who does him wrong. If
anyone fulfills his brother's needs, Allah will fulfill his needs; if one
relieves a Muslim of his troubles, Allah will relieve his troubles on the
Day of Resurrection; and if anyone covers up a Muslim (his sins), Allah will
cover him up (his sins) on the Resurrection Day". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

*Please keep Khaled Elfarra in your du'as*
