SGDC Members and ex-Boot-Campers! Stuck without a summer job and want to put
your skills to use? Well, have I got a sweet deal for you.

I'm putting together a small independent studio to produce an Xbox 360 game
during the summer, and am looking for student programmers and designers
eager to prove themselves and make a few bucks. The game will be developed
using Microsoft XNA over the course of approximately four months. The
finished product will be entered in Microsoft's Dream-Build-Play
competition, sold on Xbox Live Arcade Community Games, and will make a very
handsome centerpiece for an aspiring game-dev's portfolio.

Programmers will handle the bulk of the coding, including but not limited to
the engine, user interface, and various subsystems. Coding will be done in
XNA and C#, so strong practical experience in C# and some experience
developing games is required. Prior experience with XNA is very helpful, but
a C# expert will be able to acclimate quickly.

Designers will handle entity design, level design, and the user interface.
This project will probably be done entirely in 2-D, so modeling experience
is not required. Very strong graphics-design ability is a must - how
polished and innovative the game looks will make or break its performance.
Designers must also have plenty of experience playing and critiquing games.
Since XNA lacks a traditional animation system and does not support vector
art, designers with Flash experience will need to demonstrate their
abilities outside the medium. Artists with a unique style that's well-suited
to gaming are preferred.

The game will be developed between June 1st and August 15th, and teammates
will work about 8 hours per day. The studio's offices are located in
Caldwell - applicants must be within commuting distance. Please remember
that this is a large project in a tight deadline. Teammates' time-management
skills and discipline will be tested, and all applicants should anticipate
some overtime and crunching.

All teammates will be paid a salary in line with a typical intern. In
addition, any revenue collected from the Community Club or Dream-Build-Play
will be divided evenly among all members.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a dedicated team, make something
awesome, give your portfolio and resume a shot in the arm, earn some money,
and most importantly, spend your summer doing what you love most. If you're
interested, send an e-mail to zfreedma at stevens.edu or call me at 973 592
9235. Work will begin promptly on the 1st - you must be in contact with me
by Monday, May 18th!
