[Themaintainers] Maintainers email list migration

Thanks, all!

I agree with the concerns that it would be best to avoid corporate
surveillance, especially since email lists are fairly simple to handle
with free software. That said, I wouldn't consider it a disaster if the
group ended up going with Goog for simplicity.

Danny mentioned Riseup, which I use for several lists quite happily. It
uses the excellent SYMPA software. My only hesitation is that Riseup's
terms of use involve adherence to a political platform
<https://riseup.net/en/about-us/politics>—one which I find pretty
agreeable, but others might be concerned that such a policy might
inhibit open discourse.

My university, the University of Colorado, also hosts SYMPA lists, and I
would be happy to set one up for this group if that would be useful.

But I recognize it would be ideal to host the list at
themaintainers.org. Perhaps it would be possible to install mailman or
SYMPA at lists.themaintainers.org, separate from the Google system? Many
hosting services now make it quite easy to install standard software
like this with one click.
