Good morning,
Thanks for these two posts from Ed and Andy.

I just wanted to alert folks to YouthBuild https://youthbuild.org/, which is a group that I work with here in Champaign, IL. It was started by teacher Dorothy Stoneman in East Harlem and went national in 1988, and since internationally. (Stoneman got a MacArthur Fellowship and has now retired.) YouthBuild is now funded through the Department of Labor. They have affiliates in lots of places, which you can search on the map: https://youthbuild.org/our-programs/. Our local affiliate is the Housing Authority of Champaign Co. https://hacc.net/youthbuild/

Lee and I also touched on it in The Innovation Delusion, highlighting the contrast between high-prestige ?innovative? occupations and lower-prestige occupations (many of which, as Mike Rowe noted in the segment, have been recast as ?essential? during the pandemic).
