Hello Maintainers, Professor Shankar,
I was passed this request by my supervisor Melinda Hodkiewicz. I recently did some work on Technical Debt, which I think could have some links direct or indirect back to your focus on maintenance of data repositories.

The three articles I can think of are:

A. Ampatzoglou, A. Ampatzoglou, A. Chatzigeorgiou, and P. Avgeriou, "The financial aspect of managing technical debt: A systematic literature review," Information and Software Technology, vol. 64, pp. 52-73, 2015.

Y. Guo, C. Seaman, and F. Q. da Silva, "Costs and obstacles encountered in technical debt management-a case study," Journal of Systems and Software, vol. 120, pp. 156-169, 2016

T. Besker, A. Martini, and J. Bosch, "The pricey bill of technical debt: When and by whom will it be paid?" In 2017 IEEE International Conference on Software Maintenance and Evolution (ICSME), IEEE, 2017, pp. 13-23.

Hi David
I've been part of this global group since it was formed. I was wondering if you had turned up anything in your lit review that might help this researcher, and if you had, if you could reply to the list with some leads.
Thanks melinda

Dear Maintainers,

A collaborator and I are revisiting some work of ours that stalled out about 2+ years ago, a study of how income/revenue, expenditures, budgets, cost-sharing (IOW, money) is deployed in sustaining information infrastructures.

We had framed it as an infrastructure study, and it is, but one of the good parts of that stalling out is that we have to update the literature review and that has given me space, particularly to read this list. There are of course data infrastructures papers galore, but there's also a maintenance piece that we missed the first time around.

Can anyone point me to some work on maintenance of data repositories and infrastructures that might have some relevance to our focus on the financial dimensions of doing so? And if not that, per se, some references that might be useful in helping us foreground why we should care about money?

Thank you!

Kalpana
