Good clip. I loved the way he mentioned that both 'the left' and 'the right' have their own assumptions that add to the problem.

Just finished the book "Innovation Delusion". Really put my own work as a systems librarian (I maintain the IT stuff) at a public municipal library in context.

Rowe's description of the problems with academia are also spot on. I graduated with my MLS (Masters in Library Science) from UCLA. The push was for students to go into academic librarianship, even though there was always a need for children's librarians in public libraries.

Public libraries don't have the same 'status', even though, I believe, we have a much bigger impact in the community.
