Hi Najeh,

I don't have much experience with Orbi, but the guys who use it in our
group says that you can get mass accuracy easily up to 2-3ppm. Now you
can buy a lower grade of OrbiTrap for much less price. They say
resolution of it is about 20,000-50,000 vs 100,000 for the top of the
line one.

I know you are very familiar with Xcalibur, like Chang said I like
MasLynx and MasLynx is much more interactive than Xcalibur.

We have Synapt G2 I think it is little cheaper than new Orbi. Mass
accuracy is same with the lock mass you get <5ppm. Advantage with G2 you
can have different sources like APPI, MALDI with it and the IMS
capability.

we have one of those Agilent QTof but newer software (Masshunter) is
terrible not like old ChemStation.

Hi All,

The company I work for is planning to purchase new MS instruments. I
would appreciate the comment from somebody familiar with both
instruments from operational and capability point view and ease of
trouble shoot and maintenance. Think about disadvantages and the
advantages of both instruments.

I am just trying to help my colleague at the company making informative
decision by listening to the true users of both instruments

Thank you for your help
