Dear everybody,

On Wednesday, the Information Maintainers, one of The Maintainers
communities, released a white paper titled "Information Maintenance as a
Practice of Care: An Invitation to Reflect and Share
<http://themaintainers.org/info-mc-work>." Check it out! as well as
InfoMaintainers member Monique Lassere's helpful contextual/introductory
blog post on the white paper
<http://themaintainers.org/blog/2019/6/18/the-soups-on-us-introducing-the-information-maintainers>
.

The word "invitation" is purposeful and real. We encourage anyone that
identifies with the observations and questions outlined in our potluck
invitation to help shape this discussion moving forward. We look forward to
receiving inquiries, suggestions and new ideas from readers over the next
few months!

The Information Maintainers is one of the maintenance communities
<http://themaintainers.org/blog/2018/12/3/it36oz0elmskipjqabdwf5gzedy7nf>we
have been and will be developing to address problems around maintenance in
different domains. We also have a community working workforce/labor issues.
And we have nascent communities working around software, transportation,
water infrastructure, K12 education, and architecture. And frankly any
topic that you all and others are interested in tackling. So if you'd like
to talk about potentials in another professional, industry, or other type
of sector/domain, please reach out.

We are very grateful and proud of all the people who put more than a year
of hard work into this white paper. And we hope that anyone interested in
this work will few moments of appreciation and accomplishment for all the
many contributions to this process over time, and on the role of community
in learning and self-reflection.

Best,

Lee
